The Flawesome Award

by - 08:38:00

Hey everyone!

You might have seen in my previous award post that I mentioned I had a few award posts to write up but I didn't want to write them all up and publish in one go so I'm spacing them out a little!

I was nominated by the lovely Geraldine from Geraldine Talks - she is absolutely fabulous and is so supportive of everyone so go check out her blog! 💖

I also recently got nominated by Kelly from Poky Little Wanderer who's blog is awesome, if you're looking for a travel blog to read I'd recommend this one! 💖

The Flawesome award was created by Sophia Ismaa who created this to celebrate our flaws! Here's Sophia's description of the award:

"It’s time to celebrate the flaws that make you awesome. How many times do we see an award that celebrates all things bright and shiny and sunny in a person? How often do we forget that our weaknesses can be a strength? Our flaws make us human, our flaws tell us more about who we are, and in turn, we turn those flaws into awesome strengths. In short, our flaws make us #flawesome."

Rules: So in this award you write about 3 of your flaws or weaknesses and then turn it into a positive strength. Then you nominate 10 other bloggers. Let them know on Twitter!

My flaws:

Flaw #1 -
I overthink too much. For an example if I had a interview coming up I would often overthink way too much about it, work myself up so I'm so stressed and worried about every little thing and then I have the interview and realise there was nothing to worry/stress about. For some reason it's so easy for me to worry about every little thing and end up making things worse when in actual fact if I just chilled out a bit I'd be absolutely fine!

Positive strength -
I guess the good things about overthinking is staying with the interview example, you're likely to go through everything in your mind over and over, and I find I'll probably over-prepare but what's wrong with that? It just means that I've gone into depth for preparation so when it comes to it I have more to say.

Flaw #2
My anxiety can get the better of me sometimes. It makes me unbelievably sad when I have something planned, or I'm supposed to be going somewhere and then my anxiety gets the better of me and I cancel and stay in. I feel like sometimes it makes me miss out on things that I know I'd love and sometimes I find it hard to say to friends or family that I cannot make it anymore because my anxiety is too bad - often it feels like a bad excuse.

Positive strength -
It's fine to have days where they're not okay. It's fine if I can't go to an event because my anxiety is so bad, I don't want it to stop me from doing everything but I am allowed days where I stay in the comfort of my own home and do what's best for me. I know my family and friends will understand and I know I wouldn't be forced to do something I didn't want to do.

Flaw #3 -
I can be impatient sometimes. I don't know if anyone else is like this but for an example if I want a piece of furniture rearranging but I need my partner to help I ask him and he says 'yeah I'll help in a bit' and I'm just like 'no you don't understand, it's in my mind, I have to do this now.' He hates it when I do that but when an idea pops into my mind I just want to do it that instant! I'm not impatient with everything, just a few odd things.

Positive strength -
I'd say if I ended up doing it 'in a bit' then I probably wouldn't do it, so I think it's a great thing that I want to get something done as soon as possible! Also if its playing on my mind so much it's such a relief to get it done and out the way, otherwise it may end up stressing me out!

My nominations:

1. Nadia - A lovely blogger, she also did a guest post on my blog which you can check here!  Honestly, she's so sweet and she's so good at blogging consistently, I don't know how she does it! Please check out her blog and give her some love.

2. Karen - Another lovely lady, she's so supportive and her blog is amazing. Another blogger that is pretty good with posting so please do go have a read! Also let's get her to 900 followers on Twitter!

3. Rina - I'm so glad I have gotten to connect with Rina, she's so sweet, so supportive and encouraging and her blog is pretty amazing. One of my favourites has to be her Tokyo post - please have a read, she put so much effort into it.

4. Jess - Another blogger who is amazingly supportive, whenever I hit a goal she is always there to congratulate me! Go show her blog all the love because she honestly deserves it so much! Give her a follow on Twitter too!

5. Graham - Or to most you may know him as Voice of a Ginge. Yet again, another supportive blogger, his blog has a mixture of lifestyle, travel, games, movies - go check it out! He recently went to Rome so do go and check that out and give the post some love.

6. Craig - I've only recently stumbled upon his blog but it's great and worth a check, so go and have a look! Why not check out his post on men wearing make-up - I love reading his blog posts and he seems like a lovely guy!

7. Key - Another great blogger and blog that I love to read! She's recently just done a month of blogging which is amazing, she's doing so well. Please go and check out her blog post on that. My favourite thing is seeing all the pictures she takes!

8. Nina - One of my absolute favourites! I love our little Twitter conversations and she's so lovely and supportive. Go and check out her Autumn blog post - I don't know about you, but I love reading all these Autumn posts!

9. Hannah - another blogger I've only recently had the pleasure of connecting with! Her blog is lovely, and the design is so cute too. She has recently done a blog post of her trip to Paris which is definitely worth the read!

10. Chloe - Another lovely blogger, she's new to it so please give her all your love. Say hello and check out her first blog post where she says hello! Also give her a follow on Twitter!

I hope you enjoyed reading this blog post and I look forward to everyone else's! Of course, if you've already done it or don't want to it's not an obligation!

  5. I can get quite impatient with things too especially if I want to sort it out the second I think of it. Some of my colleagues can't understand why I talk about being impatient when I'm always patient with customers. It's both a good and bad thing at times. I overthink a lot too especially at work and home and sometimes, it really frustrates me because I feel like I'm criticising myself but I can't hope it. I worry and overthink a lot! I'm glad I'm not the only who is like this and like you said, it can defineitly be a positive thing in certain situations. Great post!

  7. Yay!!! I loved reading this! Overthinking seems to be everyone's favorite, eh? And anxiety is the worst when there's SO much but you're right, you know what is best for you and it's good you're being supported on the decision(s) you make :) I love how you made a little exerpt for each of your nominees! That is sweet!

  8. I haven't seen the Flawesome award before, I like the name! I like that you find some positivity in your flaws. Is it really a flaw after all? Overthinking is good, totally better than winging it and hoping for the best. At least you gave it some thought. You're not alone with getting anxiety. It gets the best of me sometimes as well @___@. I know I like seeing results sooner than later. I am not the type to procrastinate so any wait drives me crazy!

    Thanks for sharing these answers!

  9. I have the same thing with my anxiety, and yeah I think it makes me the saddest when I cancel plans because of it, and then really end up regretting it later and wishing I'd just gone out or done whatever it was.
