World Mental Health Day 2018.

Hey everyone!

This will be a short post as I felt it was important to raise awareness for World Mental Health Day. It is on the 10th of October every year and there are many events going on all over the world. This year the World Federation for Mental Health has chosen the theme to be young people and mental health in a changing world.

You can buy green ribbons to support - https://www.mentalhealth.org.uk/green-ribbon-pin-badges - all proceeds go to the mental health foundation so they can continue to fund their work, finding and addressing the sources of mental health problems.

What is Mental Health?

Mental health is just as important as your physical health. It is common to feel down or stressed but it can develop into a more serious problem. Although we are all different, and we all experience things differently! You may find that you can bounce back from a setback but others it may take them more time and perhaps you might need a bit of help to get back on track.

Your mental health can change depending on many things, for example certain events or certain circumstances, and as you go through the different stages of life.

Sadly there is a stigma around mental health problems. People often feel uncomfortable about them and don't like to talk about them. People struggle to talk about their feelings but as you know it's healthy for us to know and say how you're feeling.
